Kairos Funding provides crowdfunding resources to support efforts committed to social, economic, and environmental sustainability initiatives. Ideas can be small- to large-scale, at any stage of maturity, and pertain to any issue, sector, or geography.
Key qualities for ideas:
Transformative Impact: Ideas should have the potential for a sustained social, economic, or environmental return.
Finite Resources: Ideas should have high fixed costs, low or no marginal costs, and a clear path to implementation and scale beyond crowdfunding resources provide through contributors. This gives your backers confidence that you have a plan to success.
While Kairos Funding will accept all credible sustainability ideas, especially those that are struggling to attract sufficient attention and resources elsewhere.
We approve idea submissions based on:
Project Definition: Every sustainability crowdfunding campaign must, at some level, have a definition of the breadth and depth of impact, probable pathway to scale, and the lack of alternative funding available are all aspects of an idea we take into consideration.
Leadership: The team involved in driving the project is just as important as the idea itself. We will still approve ideas that are waiting for funding to build a team, however one committed and passionate champion must be present at the crowdfunding campaign launch.

To do this, Kairos Funding provides a crowdfunding platform with a global reach, solely dedicated to sustainability ideas. Ideas like an electricity-free fresh water filtration system for remote areas devastated by hurricanes, or a smart car that requires 90% less parts and takes up 1/4 the space of a regular car to park in congested urban areas. There are thousands of ideas that need funding, and thousands more yet to be discovered and realized.
Circular Economy Model
Kairos Funding is committed to the circular economy approach for sustainability. A circular economy is one in which resources and assets are “kept in the circle” of a business, recovering and regenerating the maximum resources possible back into the organization in an unending circular loop. For Kairos Funding, that resource is money. As part of the Kairos Funding business model, a philanthropic arm called Kairos Giving is being established to direct all net profits from Kairos Funding to non-profit and NGO sustainability initiatives.
Philosophy of Philanthropy
It’s not enough for Kairos Funding to have a 10-year goal to facilitate $10 billion in sustainability crowdfunding. We will be dedicating 100% of net profits toward philanthropic causes in sustainability through its sister organization, Kairos Giving. Philanthropy goes beyond simply giving charity or a helping hand. It is a strategic and collaborative approach that entails rebuilding or renewing through supporting and promoting. Kairos Giving will primarily provide philanthropic support for non-profit and NGO sustainability ideas and initiatives.
